Flurry of surveys re-opens debate on education reforms

(Baton Rouge – August 22, 2013) New surveys demonstrate that parents overwhelmingly favor public education as the best choice for children, Louisiana Federation of Teachers President Steve Monaghan said today. The results call into question continued efforts to privatize the state’s education system and judge teachers by standardized test results, he added.

Archuleta will serve as first-ever North Dakota United president

When the members of the North Dakota Public Employees Association voted in February to approve a merger with the North Dakota Education Association to form North Dakota United, they voted for a lot of incredibly big changes. A change in the size and scope of our organization added complexity of our cause, a significant alteration to our history, and new leadership.
