Through years of strong union leadership, NYSUT retirees are, happily , not in that statistic. Still, many retirees worry about their pension security.

Orchard Park High School Students paint mural for SPoT Coffee

Orchard Park High School art students were asked to paint the mural for new SPoT Coffee on East Quaker Street in the town of Orchard Park.  Students worked together as a group to decide what aspects would positively represent Orchard Park while highlighting SPoT Coffee. They decided to incorporate the natural beauty of the area as well as important buildings and places around Orchard Park. The 4 x 8 ft. mural will be permanently displayed in SPoT Coffee.

CUB Reclaims the Promise

The City Union of Baltimore (CUB) has initiated a series of activities designed to engage that union in the “Reclaiming the Promise” effort, called for by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The nation-wide initiative is intended to galvanize local communities and engage them in activities intended to reclaim the promise of high-quality public services and public education.
