In 2007, Governor Spitzer signed into law a bill creating a permanent School- Related Professionals Recognition Day on the state calendar. SRP Recognition Day falls on the third Tuesday of each November.

OFNHP is working with the nurses at PHSW to address health and safety problems for all staff around the hospital. 

The first step is our joint health and safety survey. The point of this survey is to get a better idea of what health and safety issues are a concern for staff and where in the hospital problems are occurring.

Congratulations to all 2018 DFT/AFT endorsed candidates including Gretchen Whitmer, our next governor; Garlin Gilchrist II, our next lieutenant governor; and Dr. Deborah Hunter-Harvill, who retained a seat on the Detroit Board of Education.

Remember, we must continue to hold elected officials accountable to educators, parents/guardians and students.

Secondly, we thank our members for their continued commitment to mobilize and organize. When we do that, everyone wins.

Seems pretty obvious, right?  It's what we do all day every day… most of the time.  However, sometimes we are so busy catching up, grading, planning, that we forget that we are actually doing it.
